Step 1: Check Eligibility
- Age: The applicant must be at least 18 years old for a private vehicle and 20 years old for a commercial vehicle license.
- Learning License: You must have held a learning license for at least 30 days before applying for the driving license.
- Citizenship: The applicant must be a resident of India.
Step 2: Gather the Required Documents
Documents for Driving License Application:
- Proof of Identity (POI): Aadhar card, Passport, Voter ID, or any government-issued photo ID.
- Proof of Address (POA): Aadhar card, Utility bill, Bank statement, or Rent Agreement.
- Proof of Date of Birth (DOB): Birth certificate, Passport, or School certificate.
- Passport-size Photograph: Recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant.
- Learning License: Valid Learning License (for at least 30 days).
Step 3: Apply Online
Visit the official Parivahan website to apply for your driving license. The online application form allows you to fill out all your details and book a slot for the driving test.
- Fill out the online application form on the Parivahan website.
- Book your driving test appointment online after completing the application form.
- Pay the required fees for your driving license.
Step 4: Visit the RTO
After submitting the application online and booking the driving test appointment, visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) on the scheduled date.
- Bring all the documents listed in Step 2.
- Take the driving test at the RTO. If you pass, your driving license will be issued.
Step 5: Driving Test
Appear for the driving test at the RTO. If you pass the driving test successfully, the RTO will process your application and approve the issuance of your driving license.
Step 6: Receive Your Driving License
If your application is approved, the RTO will mail your driving license to the address you provided. You can also download an e-Driving License from the Parivahan website.
