How to Apply for a PAN Card in India

If you are applying online, follow the steps on the official website to fill out the application form (Form 49A).

Step 5: Submit the Application

After filling out the form, submit the application. If applying online, make the payment for the processing fee and track your application status. For offline applications, submit the form along with the required documents at the nearest authorized center.

Step 6: Acknowledge Receipt

Once your application is received, you will get an acknowledgment receipt containing a 15-digit number. Keep this receipt safe as you can use it to track the status of your application.

Step 7: Track Your PAN Application

You can track the status of your PAN card application using the acknowledgment number online via the official website of NSDL or UTIITSL.

Step 8: Receive Your PAN Card

Once processed, your PAN card will be sent to your registered address. You can also download the e-PAN card from the official portal.
